Strength Training Misconceptions and Benefits
Had a conversation with somebody today... they said they didn't want to do strength training because they didn't want to be big and bulky and that they didn't "need" to do it. Most people believe strength training will automatically make you big and bulky like a bodybuilder. That's not true. To be like them, you need to train in a specific manner like them. You must eat a certain amount of calories and this must happen for a very long time for you to get to that size.
A Day in the Life Post 3: When your goals begin becoming your reality
It’s a surreal feeling when you get a glimpse of the ‘Future You’. It’s a short video, a quick photo someone takes, or an observation someone makes. They always come at unexpected times.
That happened to me today. I was training w/ my lifting partner & other trainer in the studio, and she looked at me and said, “OMG you look HUGE right now!” and snapped a picture. It’s a running joke that we both want to be massive but one of my actual goals is to be about 180lbs of just solid ass muscle. I’m not there yet but every now and then I see the end goal in the far part of the tunnel.
Road to 40: Post 5
The struggle is real. Things don’t always go the way you want, and sometimes even putting in the work you still come up short. hat’s what August felt like. My personal training studio has been a literal manifestation of 10 years of hard ass work. I’ve got two great team members that are helping me build my vision and lots of loyal people that have followed or found me and believe my way is the best way to get them to their fitness goals. It’s a lot of responsibility but I’m grateful for it. But it’s hard ass work sometimes.
